Biography
Tobias Linden was born in Oberhausen, Germany in 1991.
He early discovered his passion for music after watching the early “Star Trek” movies which were scored by Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner, classical composers who influence Tobias even today.
Tobias started playing the acoustic guitar at the age of 8 and the electric guitar at the age of 12 and continued playing. Even at his early age Tobias fell in love with composing original music instead of playing already existing pieces.
At the age of 15 he started to expand his knowledge of the film production process and got into producing films on his own. Tobias gained experience in writing screenplays, shooting and editing the film.
This knowledge turned out to be very useful as he got his first requests to produce promotional films for several clients in cooperation with his father and his computing company at the age of 17. These commercial films were shown at several business events around Oberhausen and on the Internet.
Besides the production of promotional films Tobias recently continued to expand his knowledge in music by taking music theory and piano lessons. Furthermore he plans to study “Audio Engineering” at the SAE Institute in Cologne after graduating from the Elsa-Brändström Gymnasium in 2010.
Today, Tobias is an up-and-coming composer working on short and independent films. He is influenced by classical composers such as Holst and Brahms, as well as by more contemporary composers such as Bear McCreary, Michael Giacchino and Howard Shore.
